| Apart from the physical convenience of a "single" connection, SCART also provides for numerous other connections, some of which permit features such as operation via on-screen menu and auto-tune functions in conjunction with video tape recorders, and automatic aspect ratio switching to and from wide-screen. These automatic functions are not possible using separate cables.

For use where an S-Video signal needs to be connected to a Scart-equipped TV Monitor, typically in an A/V system using a separate surround sound amplifier.
This cable is directional. Signal directions must be followed as indicated on the S-Video connector. Signals travel from the S-Video connector to the Scart plug. |
AV14
For use where Scart equipped A/V source needs to be connected to an RCA phono equipped VCR or TV Monitor. Or with audio only connections to connect to a hi-fi amplifier from a Scart socket-equipped source component.
This cable is directional. Signal directions must be followed as indicated on the RCA Phono/Video connectors. Signals travel from the Scart plug to the RCA Phono/Video connectors. |
